Kasabian Album Review

I'v taken a few extra days than i originally said i would to review this album as i thought it warranted an extra listen.

I have enjoyed listening to the album over the past week or so but on the whole i believe the hype surrounding this album has lead to me being dissapointed with the end product. Two of the songs from the album have been played on every radio station and tv program for the last month or so.

Although this has created a lot of hype for the album as these songs, Underdog and Fire are very good songs but the rest of the album suffers because of this in the long run as the rest of the album cant quite live up to these two songs and the media-hype surrounding them.

There are some other songs on the album that show promise and are worth a listen, i like Thick as Thieves and West Ryder Silver Bullet but they arent of the same caliber as the other two.

The album in the end leaves me with more hope and expectations of Kasabian than they have delivered in this album, i believe at some point they will deliver an album that can live up to the hype surrounding them thanks to the like of Radio 1 and such.

On the whole this is a decent album and certainly one of the better from this years crop of music but it isnt't able to compete with some of my favourite albums in which i can listen to and love every song on the album but those kinds of albums don't come around very often.

I would give West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum a score of 5/10, it is an album i like and would give a listen anytime and it should be given a try by everyone but don't expect it to match up to the expectations that have been built up around it.
